A Bear and a Tree

This book is dedicated to my Dad “The Man Who Loved Boxes”. It explores themes of change and grief but also creativity and renewal.

It is about a girl and a bear sharing the first days of winter together. There’s also a leafless tree that needs a creative makeover.

My daughter was in to all things Japanese at the time; I used a Japanese name for the main character and created a Haiku for my Dad.

I’m deeply sentimental about this book. It makes me cry whenever I read it.
